Mirafluorid Fluoride Varnish
Mirafluorid from Hager Werke is a fluoride-containing varnish with an emulsion base for precise application to the tooth surface. In addition, the varnish is free of solvents and can also be applied in a moist environment. The fluoride-containing varnish achieves the same efficacy with only 0.15% fluoride compared to other, similar varnishes with significantly higher fluoride concentrations. The protective varnish can be used for regular fluoridation in cases of increased caries risk and for caries prophylaxis. The fluorides diffuse directly through the aqueous polymer layer. The beneficial effect of fluoride varnish on dental health has been proven in many clinical studies.
The preventive effect of fluoride for caries prophylaxis is based on an increased acid resistance of the tooth enamel and the inhibited sugar breakdown of acid-producing microorganisms in the plaque. In addition, the remineralisation of initial carious lesions is accelerated.
